Who We AreThe Greater Valley YMCA (GVYMCA or GVY) is a volunteer-led, nonprofit, community organization.

Founded as individual YMCAs as early as 1897, the following branches of the Greater Valley Y merged together between 2010 and 2015:
the Nazareth YMCA, the Suburban North Family YMCA, the Family YMCA of Easton, Phillipsburg & Vicinity and the Bethlehem YMCA.
In 2014, the Forks YMCA Education Center was established.
The Slate Belt branch was opened in 2015.
In January 2017, the Allentown YMCA joined the Greater Valley YMCA.

Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants.
The person in this role will responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships, and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
A Day in the Life as a Welcome Center AssociateAs a Welcome Center Associate, you will help the GVYMCA by providing excellent customer service.
Every day at the Y is different! Generally, Welcome Center Associates are answering member questions, giving tours of our facility, answering phones, taking messages, and servicing our existing membership base, and putting our best foot forward for potential members or members of the community visiting our facility.
Responsibilities As a Welcome Center Associate
Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention
Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships and programs
Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA
Manages and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues
Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services
Accurately execute all welcome center procedures
Performs all sales including membership, program, and merchandise with accuracy into the Membership Operations system, completing a daily shift close-out report at the conclusion of the shift
Participates in staff meetings
May monitor the locker rooms as required.

Certifications required within thirty (30) days of hire:
CPR/AED, and First Aid
Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Previous customer service, sales, or related experience
Basic knowledge of computers.

Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good customer service skills, high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, and a team player
Must possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment skills, and a positive attitude
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not requiredWork Environment and Physical Demands
